Loving Care at Any Age
Candy Corn, a Siamese mix stray cat, was brought to Dakin after being found at a busy intersection. She was 12 years old, had fleas, scabby skin, and was lethargic at intake, with no interest in eating. Dakin’s medical team began to assess her, and an even bigger diagnosis was made; Candy Corn had the early signs of kidney disease. This, added to her other medical concerns (UTI, mild muscle wasting and tartar build-up) made her a foster candidate. Joyce and her family took her in, and she immediately won their hearts, especially Joyce’s daughter. “We ended up adopting her, and renamed her Mooshie,” Joyce said. Mooshie had 13 medical examinations, and Dakin’s team never gave up on providing every option for her. Because you care deeply for pets of every age, cats like Mooshie can get what they need to find the love and comfort of home life. As for Mooshie? “Well, she rules the roost,” reported Joyce.
