Llumin Inc Selects Dakin for Community Initiative

This March, LLumin Inc has led a community outreach initiative to benefit the Dakin Humane Society. LLumin is a local software company based in Springfield and signed up as Dakin’s March Business Partner. The company hosted a two week employee-driven supply drive, collecting approximately $750 in pet food, toys, and other needed supplies from staff. The company matched the value of employee donations, bringing the grand total of the supply drive to a value of over $1500.

The group culminated the supply drive with a morning of volunteering at Dakin.  Fifteen LLumin employees played hooky from work to head to Dakin to clean, collect litter from the surrounding area,  create animal enrichment packages, and prepare and portion food supplies. The group worked closely with Dakin staff and enjoyed getting to know several of the well-cared for animals awaiting homes.

Local partnerships such as this are not only enriching on an individual level, they also provide an excellent opportunity for team building while supporting the needs of the local community.
