Comfort That Cares: Yankee Mattress Supports Dakin

Thanks to a creative collaboration between Yankee Mattress and Dakin Humane Society, comfort is finding its way into the lives of pets and people alike. Using leftover mattress materials, the local Yankee Mattress team creates soft, durable pet pads that are sent home with adopters, provided to families in crisis who need pet supplies, used to keep Dakin foster animals comfortable during transport, and sold in Dakin’s thrift store to raise funds for programs. Each bed supports both pets and people, turning excess materials into real impact.

Dakin staff have seen firsthand just how much animals love the pet beds. Stacey Price, Dakin’s Director of Development and Marketing shared “I recently bought a smaller Yankee Mattress pet bed for my small arthritic dog to have a cozy spot in our camper. After the camping season ended, I moved it into the house and within days, it was completely taken over by our cats and even our larger yellow lab who technically doesn’t fit! There’s something about the plush bedding material that they couldn't get enough of and was super comforting. Before I knew it, it was always occupied, and I ended up buying three more so each pet could have their own. Clearly, my pets absolutely love it!“

Again and again, pets seem to gravitate straight to both the full mattress and pet bed, choosing them over any other cozy options in the room. Lee Chambers, Media Specialist at Dakin, shared “I have a Yankee Mattress bed that is amazingly comfortable, and my cat Kelly is also a fan. She takes her rightful place on it at night, and if I'm searching for her during daylight hours, I'm sure to find her happily snoozing away, stretched out, or curled up in a little ball, enjoying every inch of the luxury life. Contentment and coziness...that's life when you've got a Yankee Mattress, and a great pet to share it with!”
