A Prescription for Puppy Cuddles

Between full schedules and back-to-back appointments, it’s not easy for a busy dental team to slow down. But for one Northampton office, taking just 20 minutes to unwind at Dakin’s Snuggle Express with a litter of playful puppies made all the difference. Snuggle Express is one of Dakin’s most joyful fundraising programs—bringing enrichment to animals in care, while offering an opportunity to unwind and support Dakin’s programs.

This quick but meaningful visit delivered more than smiles; it was a chance to step outside their clinical environment and reconnect with one another in a new, unexpected way. “We wanted to have more out-of-the-office team bonding experiences,” said Annie Bartlo, the office manager of the dental office. “And working in the hectic dental world, we all definitely needed some time to cuddle with some animals!”

The group spent the session snuggling with a lively litter of Pomeranian-mix puppies. There was laughter, play, and plenty of puppy piles. After the event, staff shared how much lighter and more connected they felt—reminded of the importance of pausing, resetting, and enjoying each other’s company outside of the work environment.

The group also visited Dakin’s cat adoption room, where they said hello to a few feline residents before heading back to the office. Their verdict? They’d recommend Snuggle Express to any workplace looking for a morale boost—with the added bonus of supporting animals in need. “We can’t wait for the next one!” Annie shared.
