Dog Training Referrals

At Dakin, we think that it's important for your dog to learn basic life skills and manners so they can become a successful companion animal and a good neighbor.

While our own dog training sessions have been temporarily suspended, there are several other dog trainers in western Massachusetts who would be happy to show you and your dog how to work together to better understand each other and to help shape their behavior.

Walks and Wags Dog Training

Hi I'm Marlene Layman, owner & operator of Walks and Wags Dog Training in Belchertown, MA.  I'm a certified dog training, using exclusively positive reinforcement methods.  I current offer group classes for Western Mass & beyond residents.  I train in person in Belchertown and online to enable people to attend classes from the comfort of their homes.  My classes are for all levels - from Puppy Kindergarten to Canine Good Citizen & high-level manners classes, as well as fun, active classes like AKC's Fit Dog.  I've been training for about 9 years after leaving a long corporate career.  My husband & I have recently had up to 3 rescue dogs, but have lost 2 seniors recently and now share our home with our rescue, Jed.
