Moms Fixed Free

For people with intact (unaltered) cats or dogs, one of the most stressful situations can be learning that your beloved companion is pregnant with an unplanned litter.  If you or anyone you know has a cat or dog who is having a litter, Dakin can help.

Once the kittens or puppies are eight weeks old, Dakin will provide spay surgery and vaccines for rabies and distemper for moms at no fee through our Moms Fixed Free program.  Then we’ll find new homes for all the babies in the litter (after they’ve been vaccinated, treated for parasites, and spayed/neutered), through our adoption program.  Your pet is returned to you, never to surprise you with another litter again, and her babies get great care at Dakin as they ready themselves for new lives in loving homes. A true win/win!

Moms Fixed Free has helped countless people throughout our community who don’t have the ability to tend to young puppies or kittens while trying to find adopters. This life-saving program allows us to keep people and pets together while helping to reduce pet overpopulation.  According to the ASPCA, approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter animal shelters in the United States each year.  Approximately 3.1 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats.  Let’s work together to prevent unwanted litters from contributing to these numbers.
