Join Dakin's 31-Day Activity Challenge!

Spring is here, the sun is out and we want to make May the best month of the year! That’s when Dakin’s #ByMySide 31-Day Activity Challenge takes place. Join us starting May 1 by picking activities that you most enjoy – walking, running, bike riding, hiking – ideally with your pet by your side. Meanwhile, raise funds to help keep people and pets together through Dakin’s services.
Haven’t got a pet? That’s OK, we’d love to have you join in the fun. If you prefer indoor activities like yoga or just cuddling your pet (yes, that’s an activity!) that works, too. You can change your activity each week, each day if you like, to keep yourself motivated.
Participants are encouraged to join Dakin’s official Strava page to set weekly goals and track their activity. We’re hoping that everyone, cumulatively, logs 100,000 minutes of activity by May 31 when the Challenge ends. We also have tips to help you fundraise and be part of our goal to raise $20,000 to help community pets.
Registration is $10 and is available here. The Challenge features activity ideas, weekly mini-challenges to win prizes, suggested walk/run routes, and more.
Kara Ribeiro is part of a team named Barks for Brunch that signed up for the Challenge. “I want to do some kayaking now that the weather is getting warmer,” she said. “And also hitting up some of the great hiking trails in the area.” Her dog Flynn, a Dakin alum, will join her. “He’s very happy watching everything happening on the water, and is a great motivator when we’re hiking.”
