Collaboration and Generosity in our Community: Finding the Holiday Spirit
The holiday season holds a special place in our hearts. It is a time when we celebrate what we cherish most- our loved ones, togetherness, and family traditions. While this year continues to challenge us all in ways we never imagined, the strength of community connects us and gives us hope.
Many of our friends, neighbors and local businesses have found creative ways to stay connected, cultivate joy and keep the holiday spirit alive.
Spirit of Generosity:
Noho Nutrition hosts Donation Drive
Charitable giving in the office can be both motivating and inspiring by helping employees feel part of a bigger cause. Noho Nutrition, a new smoothie bar in Northampton, MA is one of these companies finding ways for employees to get in the holiday spirit. Jenny Weber at Noho Nutrition explained, “Part of what we wanted to do is to help other small businesses and the people around us.” Jenny adopted a dog from Dakin Humane Society which is one of the many reasons she chose to collect items for animals.
Keeping the Holiday Spirit Alive with Generosity
Hosting a company wide collection drive can help employees get in the holiday spirit and build camaraderie by banding together to help companion animals. View our Wish List here.
Spirit of Collaboration:
Local Breweries Loophole and Drunken Rabbit Team Up
Loophole Brewery of Ludlow, MA and Drunken Rabbit Brewery of South Hadley, MA are teaming up for a collaboration beer they’ve coined “The Milkshake Machine”. This new Vanilla Milkshake IPA will be available in December and $1 from each pint sold in their taproom will be donated to Dakin Humane Society.
When asked about donating a portion of proceeds to Dakin Humane Society, Bruno Coelho of Drunken Rabbit Brewery explained, “We are all facing tough times this year. That is when charities such as Dakin need our support most. If you can help, do it! Not just because it feels good, but because you can and it's the right thing to do.”

Youth Award Recipient Spreading Holiday Cheer with Gifts
Dakin Humane Society’s 2020 Youth Award Recipient, Ryker Bauer, is at it again! This time he’s crafting holiday stockings for shelter pets across New England. Ryker plans to spread the cheer by delivering toys and comfort items to multiple animal shelters throughout December. And, of course, he plans to make a stop along the way right here at Dakin Humane Society.
